You may pay your bill in person at our office address. We accept cash, check, or money orders. To avoid longer wait times, please note that Mondays, Fridays and the first day after a holiday are normally very busy.
Many financial institutions such as major banks offer their customers the ability to pay their bills via an online bill payment service (through your bank's website). Normally, these services debit the customer's checking or savings account to pay the bill. Depending on the financial institution, they may or may not charge a fee for the service. Payments may take up to seven business days to post to the customer's account. Please consult with your bank for more information.
Your water bill provides you with your meter reading date, the actual meter reading, the number of gallons used during the billing cycle, as well as any past due balance. Water bills are produced and levied in arrears, meaning the usage occurs in the month prior to the actual billing.
Payments must be received in the office on or before the due date to avoid late charges. All payments are posted to accounts on the day they are received; postmarks are not considered. There are three billing cycles which are determined by location within the District. Penalties are charged to unpaid balances on the first business day after the due date. The penalty amount is currently 10% of the net bill less sales tax.
